does this betta sound like i can save it

I wouldn't second guess BB, she knows tons on betta disease. So glad she found us here actually (even though it was quite the accident!)

The disease she speaks of sounds a lot like a fish version of rabies, swimming in circles really fast like that. Could it be a virus instead of a bacteria? Is it like the disease you can get from swimming in lakes with fish sick with this, heard of that, or is it an aquarium fish thing?

Either way I'm going to have to agree- if it's eating the brain you're out of luck. Please inform the fish shop that the fish is a potential environmental hazard, as well as to every other fish they own.

I'm not second guessing, it's a disorder I've never heard of and would like more information. I have never heard of a fish getting rabies... but if there is a brain eating bacteria that effects fish, I would like to know what it is called and what it's symptoms are. I did the searches last night on my hubbys comp and didn't find anything like it, so yes, I'm curious, but not second guessing or anything. I do wonder if the brain thing (I have no idea what to call it) is something uncommon , something that rarely happens. If so, it probably isn't what's going on with this poor fish, but more information on the brain eating thing would help. I'd hate to think a whole breeder's stock was contamanated with this problem.
