5 gallon tank question....

So today at Petco I fell in love with 2 female bettas, and since I couldn't decide which one I wanted, my dad suggested I put them both in my 5 gallon tank, so I ended up buying those 2 fish. Later that day we went to Petsmart and my dad was upset because he wanted to buy some Albino Catfish and they were sold out. I wanted some catfish for my empty 10 gallon tank. So we ordered 9 of them.
Would I be able to put a catfish (just 1 or 2) in my 5gal tank? OR How many female bettas can I put in a 5gal?

Is the 5 gallon divided? Betta females are usually not housed in groups less then 4 because one female tends to get more aggresive with the other which can mean death for one. The minimum should be 5 in at least a 20 gallon. I guess you could do 2 in a 5 gallon, but thats not a whole ton of space for 2 bettas. I wouldnt recommend it unless they are both super calm females and dont mind eachother. Also, if you do have the 2 females in a 5 gallon, you cannot put in any Albino Catfish. Thats not enough room and thats a lot of bio-load for a 5 gallon. But the good news is 9 Albino Catfish for a 10 gallon is probably perfect because schooling fish should be kept in schools of 6 or more!

Jewel likes to chase Gypsy a lot now... Should I worry?

Oh my gosh my dad just suggested putting my baby betta in the tank to try and make Jewel not be so mean...Is that a bad idea or what???!!!
Should I even try it?

Alright I'm gonna have to divide the tank.... how should I go about doing so?

buy that craft mesh and Make sure you cut it just right. Also your already overloading your bioload in the 5 gallon with two bettas. do not ad anything else in there. I highly recommend getting a second tank for your girl. Your also going to have to do water changes every other day, possibly every day

If you go to the pet store, you can get a Kritter Keeper as a home for now, and im sure Wal-Mart has some 25 Watt heaters for cheap.

You can also get a divider from PetSmart, they sell them for 10 gallons and up but you can easily trim it to the right size. Until then you can take one of them out (whoever is getting beat up) and put her in a vase or something just so she isn't in that tank anymore.
