Smile Betta Lover's Book Club

Well, since I am a LIBRARIAN! LOL I thought I would start the Betta Lover's Book Club. This would be a place where we just hang out and talk great books...

ANYTHING BOOK RELATED!
Share your favorite authors
Talk about great books-- series, characters, etc.
The latest releases we can't wait to get our hands on.
We can help kids with literature or other Literature assignments. Don't know a simile from a smilie. NO Problem! Ask here! (I taught English grades 7-12).

So, What are you reading?

I just finished Charliene Harris' latest installment of the Southern Vampire Series, IE Sookie Stackhouse Novels. I LOVED it! I've also read E.E. Knight's Age of Fire series, along with the Harry Potter series, and Inheritance Cycle series. I also have Anne Mcafree's dragon singer/dragon song/dragon drum series. I'm working on my own little library, people actually borrow books from me because I get the latest and greatest.

I really like Rick Riordan's books too. I'm re-reading the Red Pyramid before I start the Throne of Fire. These are great books for teaching kids mythology. If you like Sookie you might like one of these:
Partrica Briggs' Mercy Thompson Series which would also be ok for older teens.
Christine Feehan's Dark Series
MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy the Vampire Queen Series (FUNNY!!!)

Any of you guys listen to audiobooks? They can make housecleaning or a long trip much more enjoyable.

I'm actually very picky with my vampire books lol. There are few I actually will read. Lindsy Sands does very good romantic/comedy vampire books. Definitely adult books though. My bf has World War Z on audio book. he listened to it while driving from Chicago to Rapid City

My favourite series is the Gentlemen Bastards by Scott Lynch. Amazing stuff. Constant twists, heaps of suspense and lots of giggles, as well as high drama. I loved it so much I went through my battered old copy of the first book, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and used Tippex on all the swears so my little sister could read it. :)

I'm re-reading Tamora Pierce and Enid Blyton at the moment. So much love for Malory Towers.

Love Tolkien, think anyone who's seen the movies should read the book. Well should have read the book first.
