One thing I'm worried about is your filter. Looks like the Marina i25. I've lost two fish to that filter, so be careful. All I use now is a sponge filter.

I actually am a little worried about it too. I have 60 days to take it back, so I am going to see how well he does with it and decide if I need to use a different one or make some alterations to it or something.
TheKinetic: why on earth do you say that? They are hardy to clean, get clogged easily, don't work as well and are just generally a massive pain in the rump. Internal filters or wet/dry trickle systems all the way for me. Sponge filters are amazing for bettas. :)
