Bringing home Thai bettas

I have two male bettas arriving from Thailand in two days and I'm wondering if there's anything different I should do to acclimatize them? (As opposed to bringing one home from Petsmart or something.) Is there anything special I should look out for? (potential diseases or symptoms more common in fish coming from Thailand)

I'm putting them each into 2.5 gal filtered and heated tanks with Prime to condition the water, along with IAL. The tanks are up and running now. Normally I would float them in a cup in the tank and add a bit of tank water every 10-15 mins.

When you open the box, make sure the room is dark, or the blinds on windows are closed and there are no lights directly facing the box (above for instance). Adding them to the tank is about the same, acclimate them. Don't have the tank lights on, so they can get accustomed.

Agreed. Acclimating is essential for any fish but more important for transported fish.

Don't skip out on it :p Many times I've plopped pet store bettas in without a problem (after short acclimating) but with my DT, VT, CT, HM and fighter I took a lot more time in it.
