hard to sell AB bettas

ive been stalking AB quite a bit lately and i've noticed some bettas there more often than not.
I feel that maybe if they would take updated photos of the fish they may sell better.
i also worry that those are "scam fishys"

thoughts?

sometimes they're just not what people want. Sniper was on there for a good long while before i finally bought him. in that time, his fins had grown longer, Chard said. now, if you see someone had bit, but the fish was back up there when the auction ended...

Make sure you ask the age of the fish too. I am finding some of the ads are 2-3 months old. The ad says the fish is 3 months old and when I inquire the fish is 6 months old. I think they are just reposting the ad but not changing any of the info.

sometimes they are just not quality fish, or at least not $15 quality that seems to just be the default people are asking. Sometimes they just aren't unique enough, there are a couple of colors out (specifically in PK) where nearly every fish is some sort of variation of the same color.

But sometimes it is the photo. Specifically in males we need to see him flared, and we need to see his tail fully open and completely flat in the picture.

Plus some people are just out of their minds in their pricing.

I've been noticing that a lot where sellers ads on aquabid are just generic. My very first purchase off of aquabid I picked these two beautiful halfmoon plakats that were supposed to be 3 months old and when I recieved them they were a whole lot bigger than I expected them to be. I've still been using them for breeding but not with the female I wanted them with. I'm estimating they are older than 6 months possibly 8 or 9 months. I was a little disappointed but my breeding plan can still work out just using a different female.

Oh and I should add that they don't update the pictures of the fish. They use their baby pictures. It's a little misleading.

Yes
I've noticed some bettas have signs of being tail biters/I see them posted almost all the time. The thought then occurs to me "whats their tails look like now" :'(
