upgrading to 6.6 gal

Hey guys! So i'm gonna be upgrading soon. I have an apple snail with my betta, Charlie, and there just isn't enough room for them. Well, room is fine, but not enough water - those little snails are poop machines!

Anyways, space is a minimum as I currently live in a small apartment, so I was thinking of Petco's 6.6 gal bookshelf tank - http://www.petco.com/product/14978/P...Aquarium-14978

Has anyone had this tank? How is the filter? I do have a pre-filter sponge that I can slow the current down with if need be. The things I really like about it are how it fits on a shelf, and is more wide than deep (Charlie tends to be a surface dweller - I'm not sure how much more swim room he would use in a deeper tank).

The long vs tall tanks are great for bettas :p My Georgie doesn't use 50% of his tank - the bottom half!! I haven't had the tank though, and have no idea on the filter.

I have this tank and love it! It is roomy and my Betta uses it all!

I can't tell you anything about the filter, as I am using my sponge filter. Sorry!
