He has very vibrant color! What a lovely red, I like the stripes too. Does he have a name?

He is a giant HMPK 3 months old 2.5inches in Thialand that I ran across in my search for a quality breeding pair. I see the upper half of his caudal is slightly larger than the bottom but other than that...

I'm not the expert on form, but from what I can tell, his anal is a bit too long. It should line up with his caudal fin. And any HM should have a crisp, straight line. The edges of the caudal fin are rounded.
And I can't quite tell from the picture... but something seems off about his body shape.

Oh I just keep them for pets, and I'm new to it, so I wouldn't be able to give you a real serious opinion. But I do think he is beautiful, even compared to many betta I see on Aquabid. I hope he works out!

I think when buying a Giant it's better to get them full grown because I've notice some people that sell Giants but ends up being a Half Giant or worst just a regular HMPK. Make sure your Giants are aleast close to 3.5 inches and ask the seller any questions about the fishes conditions

traditional plakat, symmetrical and asymmetrical. Symmetrical plakat you want the anal to be broad and line up with the caudal. Asymmetrical and traditional you want to come to a point, past the caudal.
^ According to KadenJames. I asked in a thread. So I guess it depends on which type of Plakat that is.

Looks like he has good 8 ray branching, but his caudal edges could be a bit more sharp. His dorsal is nice and broad, but a bit too tall. It should slope into the caudal evenly. His anal should be a bit more forward-facing, but it's got good length. His ventrals should be a bit longer, the ideal length is to the tip of the anal fin. =)

Also keep in mind that he is a marble (you can tell by the dark coloring on his gill, that's always a giveaway) so he probably won't look the same when you receive him.

His ventrals i think are a bit small, and his dorsal is a bit long. Am not good for going into HMPKs much :I

Kaden, you can tell he's a marble just by looking at the non-solid color on him.
