Massive water change at the end to get rid of food sludge and nitrates, which will build to high values.

I missed a detail in my first response to you, Pasqua. You said, ".... I have swapped the black filter sponge thingy from the old tank to the new one, and put the new one in the older tanks filter."

I'm assuming your old tank is cycled and stable. Most members would have suggested you remove only half of the filter to seed your new tank. I missed that. It's not that critical, in my opinion. Just keep an eye on your old tank to guard against what is called a mini-cycle, which may require more water changes for a while.
