Update: Today he is swimming around but he will not eat, is still clamped, and the ends of his tail are stuck together. He normally has a rounded tail but now the stuck ends make him look like he has a spade tail and there is a light brownish tint on the stuck area.

The colour is probably just darkned because the tail folds over itself. Good to hear he's still alive. He's probably still feeling crummy so let's just wait and hope.

Aww..:( poor baby..I know he prob has a belly ache..and food just doesn't interest him right now..when the meds start working ..he'll come around..(hugs) I feel the same when my daughter gets her belly aches..I hate when she refuses food, but in due time, the icky's goes away..and the appetite comes back:)
