Exclamation Warning -- open drains

This sounds absurd -- but please remember when handling fish around sinks to CLOSE THE DRAINS! I was doing my routine cleaning and and changing a betta to a larger tank. As I was moving her to a cup she jumped, landed in the sink and slid halfway into the open drain. Fortunately, i was able to save her but came within seconds of her sliding down the drain. Stupid mistake for me -- almost deadly for her
