color changes and tank changes

I keep my fish in the tank that came with the starter kit i dont know much about bettas but i have kept many fish before this

I just recently noticed that my fishes head likes to change colors from almost black to white why is this?

and I just put in a bridge in his tank and ever since then he hasn't really stopped moving im wondering if i should take it back out and put his plastic plants back in or let him get used to it?

i dont have a light or a heater for him should i get them?

Is it alright t keep him next to my alarm clock which is closer to the heater or will that freak him out to much?

do they like light? or darkness?

hello and wlcome aboard.
i wouldn't keep him next to the heater as the temperature
will fluctuate too much for him,get him his own one,
the colour change could be because you have changed
his tank,and he is reacting to it,
i don't know enough about Bettas,i'm still learning,
as for the alarm,if it is one that just beeps then i wouldn't worry
but if it's one of the old type that jumps about with bells
then i don't think the vibrations will help him,
hopefully someone else will pop in to give some
solid advise.

I dont know how big your tank is but if you have the room id get him a plant as well. If you do make sure it is off to the side or in the back of the tank so he has a resting area, a play area and a large enough swim area.
