I have another question about the sponge filter and air pump..If I were to put 2 hydro 10 gallon filters and split the line from a whisper 10 with stones each would I still need a valve or would spitting it to 2 make the flow low enough? I'm the type that likes my filtration to be more than needed to make sure the tank stays clean and I always like to have an extra in case something happens to one of them also the extra sponge for bacteria is always useful.
You could always try that - that is something I haven't done hehe. If you also get a... 0brain dies- blarg! Air stone...yeah... >.> That'll help avoid the massive air bubbles that explode at the surface lol!!
Yes I was planning on using the air stones, one in each, fan of fine bubbles, figured having two filters would also help with water circulation and air in the water so I see everything as a plus with that system, am going to go for a 10 gallon with just Lunos and 6 or 7 harlequin rasboras.
Well I moved Lunos to his new home Friday..He's been exploring and seems to be loving the space. Got the tank together sooner than expected, posted on craigslist to find a cheap hood for a 10 gallon tank and found a woman who gave me a hood, wood stand and 3 filters so very thankful for that. Running 2 filters in hopes the one I had in the 2.5 could seed the tank and may keep them both in there. One's a petco power filter 20 and my old Marina i25, they should keep the tank clean and decided to just add a few more shrimp and may be getting a mystery snail, no fish since he seems happy by himself and don't want to have anything nip at him or have him get too aggressive. Once again I appreciate the tips and advice I got.
