We have homestyle fries at my work and trust me, you can burn them. Some fools there push the temp up to cook the fries faster during rushes and forget to turn it down. They do get darker and darker brown but they also get really crispy and unedible as a result. Being the type of fry that they are I'm like the only person who eats them. I can put them in a cup and drown them in gravy.
