Weird idea?

What if I put algae in the bags when I ship fish? I mean it does create oxygen AND eat amnia. BUT its dark in the bax is my only concern.. ideas?

In the dark, like plants, algae will actually consume oxygen instead of releasing it. Plants and algae go to sleep in a sense at night, it would consume minimal ammonia as well as there's no light to give it energy.

It's a good idea to fast fish for a day before shipping so waste doesn't build up in the bags.

Yeah, won't work, plants require light, algae is a type of plant. And plus, at night plants actually release CO2 so if anything your making it worse...
