Ten Gallon Divided Tank Mates

Ok, so I have a divided ten gallon tank with a male betta and three otocinclus catfish on each side. The bettas leave the catfish alone and everything is great, but wanting something to clean the excess brine shrimp from the bottom of the tank since the oto catfish are primarily algae eaters. Would I be better off with a handful of ghost shrimp or a pair of Cory catfish on each side to go in with the oto catfish? This will be the final addition to the tank, just want to make the right choice.

I wouldn't add 2 otos, as iot would be close to overstocking... You could do just shrimp, but make sure to have some live plants like moss, ferns, anubias, etc for them to hide in along with caves...from the cories and the bettas.

I agree with Sena. The otos aren't a good fit in that tank. Oto catfish need mature planted tanks to thrive. And like most algae eaters, they poop a ton and actually end up making the tank more messy. Snails would be a better choice. They will eat algae and detritus such as leftover food. Another solution to your extra food problem is to not feed as much. If some food is falling to the bottom, you're feeding too much.

If you feed flakes, it is a lot more messy than pellets and tends to foul up the water, and more sink more than pellets do!!
