Being teased for refusing to eat fish

Is is weird not being comfortable about eating fish since I am a fish keeper? My dad teases me on it.

I mean I wasn't big on fish before but I refuse to eat it now because I know how free it must've been before it was killed

I've been a strict vegetarian for the last 5 years or so, but I recently reintroduced fish to my eating plan. Yeah, I admit I sorta look over at my fishies when I'm eating it. Both my BF and my best girlfriend think I'm wacky, but we all get a chuckle out of it.

I have this problem too, I used to be ok with it when I didn't keep betta's or breed fish, but after I got betta's it got harder and harder, then one night I had a dream that I was eating a fishfinger and I found gandalf in the middle of it!I can't eat fish anymore-prawns/king prawns scallops lobster crab and octopus FINE I can eat those because its not the sort of thing I keep in a fish tank, but anything beyond that...

There's nothing wrong with it since pet fish are a totally different thing than wild-farmed fish. Unless you keep pond fish like the ugly ones, like some oscars and pirrahna's (not ugly, but the ones like you'd see in a pond) A betta doesn't look like a fish anybody would eat because its clearly made for finnage and color. I don't know. Your dad is a bully. My dad used to bully us when we stopped eating meat, just try to ignore him. You don't HAVE to eat fish!! And don't worry, we're here if you need to talk :)

I still eat fish even though i have 11 of them :P Your dad shouldn't tease about it.
It's like saying you have a pet dog, and you eat wolfs :\
or you have a pet bird you eat chicken (who wouldn't XD i love chicken)
and like you have a pet cat and you eat lions or tigers, etc

I was slightly against it when I first got jabberjaw until I remembered fish eat fish. Now I just don't eat fish in front of jabberjaw because I swear he'll be up against the glass being like "oh, I want some". X3

But yeah there's nothing wrong with it. Though you should give your dad a taste of his own medicine, find something about him and tease him about it, mabey even tell him why.
