Hi, i'm new to the website, but not to fish-keeping. My name is Damian and I live in northern Illinois, I guess I could be classified as a "junior fishkeeper"; although i've been keeping various types of fish for about 6 years. I've recently sparked my intrest once again to eventually breed nice, quality betta fish
. I recently bought 3 betta fish to start off my breeding program. I purchased 2 males (one plakat HM, one "dragonscale" plakat but i'm not sure if he's HM as well) and 1 female (Veil tailed female with a nice black trim). I'm going to add some pictures to show you guy what i've got
These pictures are of the turquoise with blue trim "dragonscale" plakat male (Not sure if he's HM, tell me what you think
) and the red little betta is the female with black trim.
Now for the other male: a purple/ red HM plakat (Look at his pectoral fins, do you guys think he has the "dumbo" ears trait as they call it? This is especially why I picked him up!
Sorry for the picture quality. The males and females are now all separated and were only put in the main tank within their containers for a few minutes so I could get some good "flaring" shots. So yeah, tell me if I got good bettas (color/ body wise) or if you have any feedback whatsoever, it'd be greatly appreciated. Well hello again and i'm happy to be a part of such a large and "colorful" forum. Cheers!
