Betta Fry Question

Hi Everyone,

With things settling down a bit, i am finally able to get back on here and spend more time with my bettas and you all.

My first spawn was early this year in February. Although most of them didn't make it, i was able to keep three of them alive and they are growing well. ( i know, only 3 ) Their colors have almost all developed and they are almost the sizes of their parents. ( I will post pic after this weekend.. got a big party i am going to).

So my questions is this: I want to spawn the offspring with the parent. How long does it take for a fry to mature to a point where he/she can spawn with his/her parent?

So from February to now its about 4 months. I am planning on spawning the red HM female offspring with the red HM male parent.

Most bettas are ready to spawn by the time they are between 4-8 months. Sounds like your's may be ready now.

Isolate your fry and flare them regularly. When they're sexually mature (some may take longer) they will flirt swim when you flare them..... telling you they can be bred.

Yes i have them separated in a 10 gallon tank. When i do let the female fry see the other two (which are males). They flare at each other and you can clearly see her vertical stripes on her body, her egg spot is white too but not as white as her mom's when i spawn the parents in February.

Maybe i will wait one more month before attempting to spawn the father with daughter.

So most/majority of betta fry are ready to spawn in 4 -8 months seems like. Females, is from their physical appearance. (based on their egg spot and vertical stripes)... but what about the make... (bubble nest? ) Or is/are there any physical signal of when a male fry is ready and able to spawn?
