I only have ever had one Betta, and he won't eat them. I think he likes them, but they're hard for him to see, perhaps.

My female betta loves flakes. I feed her high-quality marine fish flakes. She'll even search the bottom of the tank for any sunken flakes after I feed her. My new king betta doesn't like the flakes; he'll eat a few, but he ends up letting most of them sink. He prefers dried shrimp and bloodworms over fish flakes. I guess it depends on the betta.

Their favorite food is live crickets, though. :)

Yeah on that... are flakes the same as "crisps"? Got these things after good ol' petsmart didn't carry what they say they do. If they are, I can attest to them making a mess.

i just bought hikari betta pellets. they seem to love it. the pellets are tiny compared to wardleys. i should have bought hikari from the start. only thing is the card board container thing it comes in kind of sucks.

If you get a good brand, the only bad thing about flakes is they are hard to portion control.
