Question about airstones

Okay, so I'm going on vacation for a week and I know my betta, snails, and hermit crabs will be fine, but I'm worried about my sea monkeys. Right now, I have them in a half-filled 5 gallon tank that I stir the water in everyday to oxygenate it. However, since I can't take them with me, I need a way to oxygenate it. I'm willing to buy an air pump if I need it, but I was wondering whether an airstone would produce bubbles if I just dropped it into the tank.

You will need an airstone attached to an air pump in order for it to produce bubbles.

You could just buy a "T" for the airline if you already have a pump on another tank.

Thank you. Sadly, I don't. Sighs. Oh, well. I guess I'll just spend the $10 on the pump.
