Chang almost died again

I don't know if it's meant to be or what. I look at my tank after I got home, leave, and come back and Chang was sucked against the filter intake. I quickly unplugged it and he came free un harmed.

I have since taken off the filter I had and have my sister my other fish as to keep them from not making it. Rather have Chang alone and alive then otherwise.

Are there any filters that won't kill my boy?

HELP

What i do with my HOB filter is I put a glass water bottle around it. It prevents him from getting stuck. Here's a video: http://neildixit.wordpress.com/categ...-josh-and-max/

Unfortunately I have no experience with those. But a bottle around the intake really works.

Or you can use aquarium filter sponge and cover the intake.

Thank you everyone for the insights. I just relocated all but the algae eater and Chang to my sisters 48 gallon tank.

Neil, I can't really see it on the site. How did you build it?

You can see it to left of the divider. The intake is just inserted into the bottle. Simple.

Thank you, that might Bethesda best bet for me right now. He passes the filter and gets stuck to the side of it. Was going to turn the filter on for a few to unclouded the water a little? Don't want to anger Chang lol.

What about modifying one of those seperating partitions around the intake? Like an inch away from it? Do you think that might work?

I make sure a plant leaf is stuck to my filter in one of my tanks to slow the inflow. Still filters, but does not strip my excedingly longer-fin double tail half moon of his beautiful tail.
