I'm not sure how it happened, but my little fishy developed a case of fin rot. He's in a 3-gallon filtered tank and I do 50% water changes twice a week.
It was definitely fin rot; he's a white fish and his fins had red spots, and it looked like they were getting eaten away on the edges where the red was.
I cleaned out the tank/equipment with vinegar, and rinsed off the plants in warm water. I treated him for 4 days with 100% water changes, 1 tsp/gal AQ salt, and stress coat. I didn't put him in a hospital tank, so he's still in his normal tank.
The fin rot seems to be completely gone now; there's no redness at all. Should I resume water changes as normal, or should I keep doing 100% and AQ salt? There are live plants in his tank, so I don't want to salt them more than I have to, even though they're just java ferns.
