Yeah on care theyre uptight but most of my IBC affiliates I met there. Though most of us have been on the IBC site as of late.

I wonder why the IBC affiliates even fool with that forum if they have their own.

They didn't until recently. The other Yahoo group, IMO, isn't user friendly (very difficult to see threads).

If you are looking for a site for breeding bettas that conform to IBC standards, it's best to go to the IBC's own forum because many of the members here who breed bettas don't necessarily breed for show quality but rather for healthy fish and good color. IBC will have lots of good advice on breeding genetics but if you want sound breeding advice in general, we do have many good breeders here including chard56, DarkMoon17, and indjo.

In light of the recent mention of breeding however, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask members to be respectful of other breeders. It is NOT okay to criticize someone else's bettas because that person has put just as much work and love into breeding them as the next person. If you don't want your bettas criticized then act in kind and don't criticize someone else's.

I was quite an active member on the forum that starts with a U until a few years ago. I won't go into details but it ended pretty badly.

That's more of an issue with the breeder themselves. True breeders do not flame or talk bad about anyone. But a breeder has to accept that their fish might be less than ideal. I WANT to know if my fish aren't that great. That's how we progress to being better breeders.

I, uh, think you're missing the point of what I said. It's one thing if a breeder asks for constructive criticism, another if sniping is done. What I'm asking our members not to do is the sniping. This is not a show site, we're not here to judge bettas. If members want to engage in judging, they need to do so on a proper site meant for that purpose.
