Remember that you'll still have to do a weekly 100% water change, and one 50% mid-week. :) You can leave him in for the 50% and just scoop some water out then replace it with conditioned water of same temperature. Make sure your heater stays submerged if it's on during the 50% change.

He should feel better soon! Warm water and clean water will help him.

EDIT: You named him Finnick! <3

He is eating very little but he is eating. I put a filter in it also. Though he kinda has a red spot on his side is this a problem or is he getting his color back (cause he wasn't red before and his fins are still pale) so what is going on?

Hmmm... hard to say without a picture, but it's probably nothing to worry about.

Make sure the filter current isn't too strong. It usually is. :( They like to be able to just float around without having to exert much effort to stay in one spot.

This isn't *exactly* the same type of filter, but you can do something like this:

The foam is Fluval filter sponge/foam and it's like $2.00 for a box of it.

I'm so glad he's eating now, even if it is just a bit! Thank you for caring so much about him. :)

I've read on here that soaking the pellets in garlic will sometimes stimulate them to eat as well. But, it sounds like your boy is happier and eating better now that he's got some space and some heat, so hopefully you won't need the garlic. :)

Good luck to you, and make sure to post up some pictures once he's happy and well! :)

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss! Poor little guy, but I'm glad he knew he was loved and had a good place to live while he was with you. I always find that provides a little bit of comfort. :( Still, I'm so sorry for you and your boy! :(
