Glass aquarium top

I was thinking of getting a glass aquarium top to replace my hood/light so that room light could come in more easily. My only problem is it doesn't seem like it allows for an air pocket at the top of the water (which bettas need). Does anyone have one or know if it's safe?

I'm looking into getting a glass top for a spare 5.5 gallon and upgrading one of my boys from his 3.5 gallon.

I think you should just be able to lower the tank's water level a bit? That way there would still be an air pocket?

Yeah I gues I would just have to make sure the water is down a little bit....Is like a 1/4 inch fine?

I should think so? I've watched my boys take a breath and their little mouths just break the surface. Plus, they're little fishies they can't take *that* big of a breath!

If you mean the Versa top aquarium lid things? The way they are made it lifts the hood slightly so air can get into your aquarium. There are slight gaps. If this is not what you are talking about sorry. I have two aquariums with the versa tops and I like them.

Wow that's neat! If I had one, I can totally picture my cats sitting on top of it, which would make me a little uncomfortable xD
