I know there are lots of young adults on this forum so I want to offer this free life lesson. Be a negotiator! You can negotiate for almost everything so don't be afraid to do it.
If you get injured and don't have insurance-go have it taken care of and negotiate the bill afterwards. Don't suffer at home and potentially have a lifetime of problems associated with it. Any major purchases can also be negotiated. It's your money that you work hard for. Feel free to keep as much of it as you can.
Make yourself aware of all your resources! If you are struggling financially you owe it to yourself to know the location of the nearest no cost/low cost clinics and what health programs are available for free or little cost in your city. Your utility companies often have programs in place to lower your bill. Look on their website of just call and ask!
If you try, you can shave expenses off of nearly every aspect of your life from medical bills to pet care to household bills and even gas and groceries. Don't stick your head in the sand!
