Wash it really well with hydrogen peroxide because if it's already filled with pus, it could easily get infected. It sounds like the teeth may have pinched the skin, causing a blood blister under the skin. I've only been bitten by a horse once and it was mischevious colt (been kicked though). They may be herbivores but those are some strong choppers they have.

One thing you might want to do is go to a pharmacy store (Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS etc) and get a finger splint and some medical tape. It might not be broken but if you tape it you can keep it still so it has a chance to heal.

+1 to Sakura . Ouch! He must have gotten you good! I have ridden and taken care of horses for almost 3 years now and have never been bucked, kicked, or bitten

Never been bucked off but I've been thrown when she decided to refuse a jump. Right over her head, landed at the hooves of another horse. Amazing I didn't get trampled.

WOW you are really lucky you didn't get trampled. We have had a couple horses refuse jumps at our stables, but few incidents when anybody came off

It was an adventure, all right. Still, jumping was always my favorite.

Have them start you out over cavelletti, those low poles set on the ground. It helps you develop your rhythm. I had to quit riding before I advanced to jumping courses, though. Most I ever did was three jumps in a row.
