Sick betta?

Hello everyone. Just a few days ago I noticed that my crowntail betta, Prince Skye was looking kind of ill. He has some white fuzzy looking stuff on his head, and partly on his fins. I'm really worried about him, I don't want him to die, he's my first crowntail betta. Can anyone help me? :(

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? His scales on his head look like they are peeling off (kinda) and there seems to be some fuzzy looking white stuff on his head and partly on his fins.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Slight loss of appetite.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Ummm last Thursday
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Clean water
Does your fish have any history of being ill? No
How old is your fish (approximately)? 9months?

sounds like a fungal infection, most likely caused by the water conditions and stress, before you think about curing it please please please invest in a heater and some water conditioner. most all diseases can be prevented with water that is in pristine condition. It can be treated with aquarium salt and fungus eliminator in a qt tank, when you do get a heater, dont put it in the qt tank because warm water can cause the disease to breed faster

I do have a heater, it's just in a different tank at the moment. I also do have water conditioner. Thank you for your help. Should I clean out the tank 100%?

i would recommend it, clean out the filter too

Jungle Fungus Eliminator has worked for me in the past, and other than that, everything that cjconcepcion has posted has it pretty well covered.
