Yep although the only picture I have at the moment is of it in the tank :( but there is a post somewhere that tells how to make them but I can't remember where...Also I form the mesh into a circle and put the long end through both layers of the mesh

Who knows, maybe they don't get bored. Maybe I just like to think that they do.

Atena, changing things around could very possibly be more for the human than for the fish lol.

littlemermaid, yep mine ended up looking exactly like that. It's just that the stick end of hte suction cup comes out farther than your's does. It's not sharp, it just gets in the way. I've been looking for a thread on them, but I've yet to find one.

I think they do get bored, I just don't give him an opportunity. I read that tail biting is caused by boredom.

"Nothing else to do so I think I will rip a chuck of my body to shreds, yay!" - Betta brain!

Whoa, did you use the mesh as a filter baffle too??

Atena - yep, tail biting is exactly what I want to prevent. My new one looks like he had been biting his tail while living in his little cup from the petstore.

I think "Tailbiting" is from lack of swimming space, is those lil cups that tail is the only thing that they see, and it constantly gets in thier face, and on their nerves..and yes, from boredom too..what elese can they do in those cups..(boring)..I'd do the same..
Btw..LittleMermaid~ I love that "Tree Stump" decoration, where did you get that?

Any other thoughts on this? I have tried the bottle top and neither of my two were interested.
Blade the larger male will flare up at a mirror which I only use for a couple of minutes a couple of times a week
Diesel is much smaller and younger and does not flare up when he sees his reflection.
Both have well planted tanks with live plants so I change their plants around regularly and move the pebbles around but not sure what else I can do?
