Unfortunately there is no good balance. No level of salt is safe in the long-term for a betta. And brackish water is different than just adding aquarium salt. Brackish water has more than just sodium chloride; it's comprised of other salt ions, too.

you could keep some endler's livebearers with them, they are smaller than guppies or mollies, are colourful but not super flashy. I had good luck keeping mine with a male betta.

For a 10g I would either make a community tank with a male betta or a sorority, it's definately too small for females and other fish.
