Unhappy My beta is laying down on the bottom of his tank...please help!

My little fella does not look like the happy camper that he used to be. I feel horrible and helpless! What can be wrong with him?
I read this old thread and will be trying some of the tips mentioned but it is an older thread and was wondering if there has been any advances lately.
The little guy means alot to me

I'm REALLY sorry about your little fish. And there were no replies on this thread..

Please don't feel discouraged. I have lost a beloved betta, too, despite good care. My new fish are healthy and happy, and I am glad I did not give up.

If you do choose to get another fish, please let us know and show pics! (only on links that work.. ;) )

Oh my gosh - Henry is beautiful!!! He looks like a spade tail. :)

Do be careful of plastic plants around that magnificent tail, though - run an old nylon stocking over them to see if they snag.. if not, they're safe.

I hope he lives a long and happy life. :)
