Exclamation Nibbly Tail Disease

I have a Betta named Houdini and this morning when I fed him he looked fine. I came back upstairs this afternoon and all of a sudden his tails half gone. I've heard of Betta's finding habbit out of nibbling their own tails of and I wonder 1) Why exactly they do this, and 2) Will their tails grow back?

There are a lot of factors when it comes to tail-biting, hehe~

It could be misplaced anger, boredom, or the betta feels weighed down by the fins and decided to go 'snipsnip' on their own terms. Or sometimes they feel the need to throw a fit and go chomping away~ Moody little things, they are x3

They tails DO grow back, and depending on how much is missing, it'll be a few days to a few weeks before the tail grows back fully.
