Java Fern Leaves???

Hey everyone, is there any Canadian members out there with Java Ferns that are willing to send me a few freshly picked off trimmings or what not of Java Fern leaves? Im trying an experiment and dont wanna buy a whole plant. Will pay for shipping!

Ha if you find somebody I want in too!! Java ferns are 6.99 everywhere close to me. I know people are overrun and I somehow kiled mine before. Pick up some SeaChem Flourish, I hear java fern LOVE it. I have some in my fridge but no fern!! lol
You can try posting on your local classified. I posted on kijiji and got a response from someone but we never did finish the transaction.

I don't have a petco in my province. I'll probably post on kijiji when I have money or suck it up and pay almost 10$ for one o.o

I got my java fern for $3.99 at persmart and I've gotten about 5 babies off it.

I got a java fern from Petsmart in one of those tubes on the shelf.

It had black thread tying the rhizome together.

Another plant I had with the thread rotted and died off mostly, I think because of how tightly they packed the rhizomes together and smothered them with the thread.

This time I very carefully removed the thread and got around 10 or so separate plants from the one I bought. Even two pieces of bare root sprouted leaves. The pieces I tied to drift wood are doing well enough to form babies on the tops of the leaves, and sprouted additional leaves from the root. I'm not sure if all the tubes of java fern are like this, but I am very happy with what I got out of buying one plant.

I know you guys/gals don't want to spend $6 - $7 for a plant though. Just wanted to share my good experience in case you ran into java fern in tubes.

our petsmart has small overpriced java ferns. I don't know if Canada has ANY petco's. I prefer plants from the LFS. They are healthy and green. (except for the scarlet plants!)
