Tankmates in 10 gallon? Good idea or bad idea? : )

Hello, everyone!

I'm wondering whether or not to add anything to my 10 gallon divided tank. I have one male betta in each half. I had a nerite snail up to a few days ago, but after an illustrious career, it passed away. I've started to plant the tank, will continue to do so.

Other than the bettas, there are now three tiny pond snails roaming around. Will these reproduce? If so, will I need an assassin snail?

Do you all think that adding anything else is a good idea--shrimp etc--or should I keep it like I have it now? 8\ I'm half-tempted to divide it again and get a third male, but I quite like only having it divided once.

I don't feel a pressing NEED to add anything else, but I've really enjoyed building this tank and wouldn't say no to adding something else.

What have you all done, those of you with 10 gallons, with your tanks? : )

Shrimp are cool my bettas bo not eat them but some do...
