I have one of these, and kept a betta in it for a few months before upgrading to a ten gallon. Now I use it as a Pathos holder, and it's really quite pretty with plants in it. Water changes weren't hard if the tank is low enough, and it DOES looks super neat if you have painted walls. If only they made a 3+ gallon size and cordless heaters...

You could get a similar look a lot easier by getting a 2.5 glass bowl and putting it on a small shelf or desk. Just my two cents. :) It's a cool idea, saves space, but a little difficult in practice. Just make sure the shelf is near an outlet for that heater!

agreed
not to mention it is easier to find a reliable/adjustable heater for 2.5 gallons than 1 gallons or less.
