Good afternoon from the sunny eastcoast ,

new to the betta fish world and glad to found this forum..However I have a smaller tank with two bettas (female and male) the bubblenest is done and I was wondering (from researching) if it's better to remove the female now and put it in a seperate tank ??

Are you Breeding them? Males really shouldn't be with Females besides Breeding purposes. And yes, if they are not Breeding, take out the Female. The Male already built his Bubblenest so it's best for him to stay.

Males and females should never be housed together except for breeding purposes only.

Those shells will effect your water chemistry in a bad way. You should get them out of there and just use the gravel.

Two bettas reguardless of gender shouldn't be together. The only time multiple bettas should live together is when there are 4 or more females in a large 10 gal or more tank. Otherwise you're asking for them to kill each other.

yes... you have two many shells in there. to be safe, it's bet to take them out. having 1 smallshell per gallon can help stabilize PH. however too many of them and ur PH can go a bit high. goodluck and welcome to the world pf betta keeping :) If you don't have an etra tank you can try dividing your current one for now
