I actually use the Hakari Gold micro pellets, and after reading the ingredients, I thought of switching to the Omega One pellets, I have not yet, I see that my fishy's are doing quite well with the Hakari.
but the Hakari is Fish meal, and I have heard that the first 3 ingredients in the formula should be a fish mentioned combo, such as (salmon, halibut, and one other one) then wheat or some other filler, however, I choose Hakari, because It floats and I didn't want to go with one that does not.
The Omega One does float though. It's the NLS that doesn't float.
I just read this article, and I know it's for dog food, but the point is the meat content, because betta fish are carnivores. It basically explains that meat meals in kibble are better than whole meats:
Dogs and Betta Fish have different protein needs. It doesn't matter if they're both carnivores.
Well the point to reading that article is not a dogs nutritional needs (they are actually somewhat omnivorous) its the fact that foods containing fish meal instead of whole fish can have more animal protein in them (which is good for betta)
I just switched to omega one pelets and my purple girl looks AMAZING she has such vibrant color and is so active :) which ever you choose i highly encourage you to switch to higher quality foods they are sooo much better then the cheap stuff. :D

I am actually currently feeding omega one and i think it is high quality but I'm learning that NLS is probably technically higher quality.
