Talking My new pair!

I'll be setting this pair up for a winter spawn, trying to time it for the spring shows. Male is from bettascapes and the female is from Karen Mac Auley and placed third in her class at the IBC convention. Female is DT geno so I'll get some DT's in this spawn. This should be a very nice spawn.

Do you have a more balanced female?
The male has a nice dorsal - front ray is very long. Unfortunately he has a long anal. It would be better to pair him to a balanced female, even though her rays aren't as big with excessive branching.

This female has superb rays. Her only fault (if paired to this male) is the long anal ..... it may be easier in the long run if you went for balanced fins from the start instead of improving it later.

Cool

Looks like a nice breeding pair to me.

It will be interesting to see the results color wise?

Jeff.

The female placed pretty well and carries the genes for good fins.

I, believe, Bettascapes has fish from BasementBettas, which are descendants from Martinismommy. These two will throw a nice spawn.

The anal fins are long but I'm not worried about it. I bought this female sight, unseen, even before I knew she placed in her class. I trust Karen, her fish speak for themselves.

I expect multi colored and light bodied fish. The male looks pink in the photo but is more of a cream/silver with maroon. He's a very unique color, I've never seen one like him.

Wonder if he has the red-loss gene. Looks like he started as a red, and blonded out. May be completely void of red when he gets older. Should be an interesting spin on the fry.
