Live plants can outcompete algae if you have enough. Turning out the lights and no food (blackout) for a few days will help as well in a planted tank.
Water changes, shrimp/snails, and moving the tank to a less sunny location might also work.
no go with the cleaning crew. they always get eaten or harassed.
i have 6-8 stems of anacharis/that is where the hair algae is growing....atleast that's what it looks like
it doesn't receive that much sunlight....maybe 30 mins.
the light it out at midnight the latest and is on at 10:30am the earliest.
Also 30-40% water changes are done every monday. 50% once a month.
