I checked on him again. He isn't skittish, so I think the towel is helping. He's a bit more energetic than usual (that really odd?) but he's not swimming like a chicken with its head cut off. His tail fin is still shaking really bad and his side fins are just going like crazy. Usually his side fins don't move much and he just... chills. He's having a bit of a sinking problem... I'm starting to think that he has a genetic SB problem that only is bad when he's stressed, because every time he gets stressed he has some kind of swimming problem. He isn't bloated or swollen looking.

The pictures are from earlier. They're bad because I was all shakey and freaking out. I'll wait a few minutes and try to take some more pictures.

How did he fin bleed when it tore? Some fish have clear fins, so how is there blood in there?

Also, what exactly is stress coat? >.< I've just heard that it's good. :P
Stress Coat is an API product that is both a water conditioner and fish supplement. API has proven that it reduces fish stress and helps heal damaged tissue (fins, skin, etc). I use it in my personal tanks, as well as the betta tanks at work, all of the time.

That is what I used too. I think your fish will be fined. I would change water every 3 days with little AQ Salt and water condition. Make sure that you use med/salt/condition accordingly (most instruction is for 10 gal).
