In case it was from the tetras dying (whether disease, or because of ammonia!) it's definitely good to quarantine him, and keep the water immaculate. I'm not sure if anyone else recommends it, but in case of bacterial infection (very possible) have some maracyn/maracyn2 on hand.

The tank was cycled before adding the tetras, 0-0-20

When I got the tetras (at Petco) it was a new shipment and I saw one already dead in the tank so I learned my lesson! I think I will let that tank sit for awhile and try a sorority!

I've had tetras in my tank, which my females sought out to murder One female died already, and the other two are sick - I think because of the tetras, although they came from someone rather than a store, and were healthy... :/ Which is why I threw out the possibility of neon tetra disease...

I never saw any problem between the tetras and the betta but then I wasn't watching 24/7.

He seems to be doing better today. I will change water tonight. Sure would hate to lose him. He shows no signs of the tetra disease but that doesn't mean he doesn't have it.

Just keep an eye on him - he's probably just stressed. Fish dying in a tankr eally takes a number on the other fish.

It doesn't sound or look like he has any external parasites, (How does it look to you?) so I'm not convinced of the efficacy of AQ salt.

Glad to hear he's improving.

Today he is 90% back to normal! I guess he is just a sensitive soul

I'm going to put him back in the 20 and see how it goes. No more tetras!

If possible he seems even healthier now than before! It must have been a simple case of stress. Amazing.
