I had a tank given to me that housed fish, then a small rodent, and then given to me. I cleaned it thoroughly and then had to buy the filter and heater and accessories.

It works though as long as the tank is clean and in good shape.

How did you clean it. A small rodent has lived in my future sorority tank.

I used white vinegar. It takes away smells and cleans the glass and wont leave chemicals when it kills any bacteria. Then I wash it out with hot water. I let it sit and dry again in the sun before giving it another wash in hot water.
