How often should I feed the little guy?

I got my fish about two weeks ago, and I know there are a million of these topics, but hear me out. This little guy is ACTIVE. Even in a one gallon unheated unfiltered tank, he still swam around about half the day, quite actively. And he always comes to the front pretty much begging for food lol.

Now I've moved him to a 5 gallon heated filtered tank, and he's even more active, having to fight against the little current (which he seems to like, even though there's a calm spot on the other side of the tank, he always swims against the current and keeps going back) and loving the heated tank. He's been VERY active, more active than any fish I've seen actually. It's not panicked active either.

His current diet has been 2 pellets in the morning (whenever I wake up), one in the afternoon (~3-4), and two in the night (usually ~9ish). But I feel like he needs some more, as the increased temperature (around 78-80F, steady) plus him being so active all the time.

Also, one small little unrelated question- should I turn the filter off in the night? I'm afraid he won't rest due to the current or the noise.

What type of food does he eat? And don't turn of the Filter. The beneficial bacteria will die off in 6 Hours.

Pellets. Specifically, "BettaFood" from Aqueon. And my tank actually isn't cycled. And don't they live on the gravel too?

Then feed 2 Pellets 2 or 3 times a day. For the Filter, it's still a Filter. It has beneficial bacteria even if it's not yet fully cycled. When you turn it off, the bacteria would die. And when it dies, it turns into Ammonia. And when you turn the Filter on, it will literally fill the water with Ammonia. Beneficial bacteria is on gravel too but not enough.
