Serious thermometer issues

I'm having a serious thermometer issue. *glares at tank*

My stick on thermometer is...Broke. It's reading about 76F, which isn't horrible, but isn't right either. How do I know it's not right? Water is warm, warm like 82F. At first I thought it was my heater, so I turned the thermostat up. Nope, not my heater. Plus, if it was my heater, the water would be approx. 60F, I keep my room really cold.

Anyway. What is a good internal heater? I thought about using this; http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...3B+Accessories but some of the people said it lost it stopped working, or broke, or whatever. Plus I don't want to spend a fortune. Any suggestions?

I use an EASY READ AQUARIUM THERMOMETER ..search in ebay for them or check local pet store's .. I find it work's realy well and has less of a viewing issue to the round thermometer's like most its on a sucker and u can rotate it in this for best placing i.e front back of the tank

Those stick on thermometers are notoriously inaccurate. Mine will read 80F when the thermometer you linked reads about 76F; I just gave up on them. The thermometer you linked is a great buy. I've got them in all of my tanks. Never lead me astray.

Anazingly accurate digital thermometers. I have 4, one for each of my corn snakes.

These are the heaters I use in the 5g and the 2.5g: Set it and forget it.

This is also the Thermometer I use in both tanks.

I think the reptile thermometers are a little more accurate but the TopFin ones are great and they don't cost a fortune.

I have the type of thermometer you linked to, as well. Works like a charm thus far. I like how you can put it anywhere in the tank, and it could be a "free-floater," too.

So I ended up getting one at my local petstore. You stick it to the side of the tank, and you put a magnet on the other side to keep it in place. Seems to be working thus far...
