So...bloodworms are illegal?

I called my LFS the other day and asked if the had live food. He said ,"as in tubifex worms?" I said yeah but do you actually have bloodworms? He said, "bloodworms are illegal in the united states, we sell tubifex worms." I was like whuuut??

They aren't illegal by me. I can go to any pet store and get them frozen or freeze dried. Last I looked I still live in the USA. ;)

It could be illegal to import them (Live) since the frozen ones we get come from duck ponds in China or something. But who knows.

If you want live, you will probably have to raise your own, but you should probably check how west nile is in your area before you start raising buckets of mosquitoes lol.

We sell frozen & freeze dried blood worms in MD. It might be just live ones. Hm.

Maybe. I don't ever remember finding live bloodworms here. However, my fry (once big enough to take them) take thawed bloodworms easily. :)

Wow, I really need to buy Frozen some day... In MD it's not illegal. I have Freeze-Dried Bloodworms and I didn't get arrested. xD

@ Lebron, PetSmart has flash frozen ones so when they thaw the wiggle so it will really illicit the prey drive
