I decided to do a rescue. Actually, I went to the ridiculously overpriced chain store first to look at their emaciated bettas, and wanted to rescue one of those. Doing the usual routine, I checked out the other fish too. To my dismay (but not surprise, chain store... duh...) some of the goldfish had ich. So I went to the counter and told them that their fish is sick.
I usually don't bother with these things, so I was a little nervous and said some of your goldfish has ich....
and mannnn you should have seen the store clerk's face. She literally exploded...with "it's pronounced IIICCK, and NO our fish does NOT have that!"
I was like, may be you should take a look?
She's like, They DO NOT have ICH we check them VERY CAREFULLY.
At that point I was like whatever, I was just trying to help your fish, obviously you don't care about them very much.
So extremely peeved I went to one of the cheaper and friendlier chinese LFS who at least keep their bettas in a cup with some moss.
So here's my New Betta and some free stringy moss. I also got a bunch of elodea looking plant, a thermometer and some free duck weed =P. $15 well spent...I'll be setting up my new heater in my 1 gallon moss tank and he will be left to recover in his new home until I get the 10 gal NPT set up :)
His fins looks rather chewed, but no black edges, so hopefully they will grow back nicer soon.
