They make the filter in different sizes. I have a 10 gallon tank and am using the 10i version

Wait..are you trying to baffle the outflow or reduce the intake flow?
I'll look into the foam. And at this point I'm looking into reducing either. When it's on, the outflow is too strong for my fish as well as the intake flow. It has trouble swimming where the filter "waterfalls" and also got pulled in against the intake part of the filter.
