First ever Betta

Hello everyone, I've finally come out of lurking and decided to share some photos of my first ever Betta, Ernie. He's a solid red veiltail.

Hope you all enjoyed :)

Thanks everyone :) He's a joy to own, he might be small but he has a lot of personality!

Believe it or not, I had the hardest time with his fins. I've had him for about 3 months now and he had clamped fins for a long time, then ripped his tail fin and anal fin and his ventral fins curled up until a few days ago. Those live plants sure made a difference :)

What kind of camera are you using?

I've seen a lot of pictures, but yours definitely stand out in terms of clarity.

My opal halfmoon betta was fine for a while & all of a sudden his fins started getting tattered.

I thought it had something to do with the plastic stem from the silk plant so I removed it, but I think he was ripping them out of boredom.

For my photos I switch between a basic P&S Canon 8MP & 12MP Canon.

Also how much do you feed him? He looks a bit thin in the 3rd photo.

Thanks everyone :)

MSG, he's fed 3-4 pellets twice a day. He literally could eat twice that, but he's a huuuuuge pig haha

You still didn't mention which camera you used to take the photos.

I feed mine a couple pellets in the morning, & a couple in the evening.

I don't use substrate because it's easier to tell if they're having digi issues.

The opal betta ate about 10 or 12 in a row before I stopped feeding him.
