well considering i only have a 10 gal and everything ive read about the siamese algae eaters says that they need to be in a 25 gal, i think i like the idea of cories. i dont really have a problem with algae, but excess food in the gravel and such. but i love the upside down catfish and im wondering if they'll do the same job the cories would do. also will my betta girls get along with them? (my bettas are unusually tolerant of other fish and eachother, but i know how girls are!)

If they are faster than the bettas, yes. They are generally harmless to bettas - or so I found. (PS my algae eater jumps between 10 and 40 gallons, depending where the algae is he eats too well)
